Oh Kimono wins ''Best Sustainable Brand'' at Pure London x JATC in London
We are super proud to have won the award of ''Best sustainable brand''!
On Sunday 14th July we participated in the Pure x JATC Exhibitor Awards, where seven standout exhibitors were honored in a special ceremony at Olympia Events.
This was an opportunity to celebrate and give back to the exhibitors who showcased outstanding collections. We are super proud to have won the award of ''Best sustainable brand''!

Ce face un kimono al brandului tău unic? Ne poți descrie procesul de creație, de la idee la produsul finit?
În primul rând, faptul că fiecare model este ediție limitată. Uneori putem avea doar 5 bucăți dintr-un model, fiindcă lucrăm și cu materiale care ar ajunge waste, în metraje foarte mici. În al doilea rând, când porți Oh Kimono, intri în povestea noastră. Multe din cliente au ajuns să mă cunoască și, pe cât posibil, cu fiecare clientă am o interacțiune personală în limita timpului disponibil. Îmi face plăcere să le consiliez, avem și mulți clienți care își realizează kimonoul dorit în stil made to measure.
Procesul de creație este puțin haotic, nu sunt o fire ordonată. Gândesc non-stop, I overthink, I think and then I stop and think again. Uneori asta poate fi un dezavantaj în viață, însă în creație este ceea ce îmi permite să mă gândesc la ce kimonouri vreau să realizez.
De obicei, închid ochii și mă gândesc la un loc. Apoi la culorile de acolo, la patternuri. Mă las ghidată de sentimentul cel mai puternic. Și încep să caut materiale care să poată fi folosite în colecția respectivă. Nu lucrez cu modele și schițe, lucrez cu o croitoreasă pricepută care mă înțelege perfect.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, 2021 was our most eventful year so far. From making it into shops we could only dream of such as AList Designers’ Boutique by Andreea Esca to launching a resort collection that turned out to be a huge success, and from gathering a lengthy stockists list to going international by successfully selling our latest autumn-winter ‘21 RONAMI collection to NOT ANOTHER CONCEPT STORE in Vienna - we’ve accomplished it all.

Încă de la început, din 2019, până în ziua de astăzi, creșterea Oh Kimono a fost una organică - implicit din punctul de vedere al aparițiilor noastre în media. Together with Honda Romania we went on a discovery of beauty trip in Romania in the Buzau area. We drove the new Honda CRV with sunroof and enjoyed the confort of a good ride, whilst promoting our new exclusive Shizuka natural silk kimono. The contrast of the bright, vibrant kimono with Japanese motifs and metallic threads, with the more arid area and the red elegant Honda CRV made our time there even more memorable.
